Milk prices monitoring. March
The imbalance in the world dairy market and the growth of milk production in the domestic market had a negative impact on the formation of purchase prices for milk in March.
This was reported by analyst of Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine (AVM) Yana Muzychenko.
Official statistics shows the growth in milk production in the first two months at the level of 3.6% to 432.6 thousand tons. There is still no March report, but the continuation of the growing trend is obvious.
The average price for Extra Grade milk was 9.56 UAH/kg (including VAT). In general, the range fluctuated within 8.76−9.80 UAH/kg.
The price of Higher Grade milk was in the range of 8−9,50 UAH/kg. The average monthly price was 9.13 UAH/kg. Grade I was released on average at 8.84 UAH/kg.
Only towards the end of March the world milk market began to show signs of stabilization. The average combined price for milk in the world (IFCN data) was 31.9 USD/100 kg ECM, which corresponds to the indicators of December last year.
