extra grade milk, milk prices
Milk prices monitoring. September

Purchase prices for milk in September traditionally show an upward trend. This is due to a number of factors: seasonal decline in milk production, devaluation of hryvnia, which allows somehow support exports and a slight revival of the domestic market with the onset of colds.

This was reported by analyst of Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine (AMP) Yana Muzychenko.

The average price for Extra Grade milk at the end of September amounted to 9.60 UAH including VAT, which is 1.3% higher than the fixed price at the beginning of the month. In general, the range of prices was from 9.10 to 9.90 UAH/kg. The average value in September amounted to 9.54 UAH/kg, which is practically the same as last year's figures. The price for the rest of grades have fallen compared to last year.

The average price for Higher Grade in September amounted to UAH 8.75, which is 2.8% lower than last year's figures. Grade I cost 8.14 UAH per kg, which is 5.4% lower than last September prices.

Such a difference in pricing primarily depends on the need for the highest quality milk.
