Russians say Belarusian food is of good quality

Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) has published the data of the survey conducted in February in Russian Federation.

According to the information received, Russian consumers highly appreciated Belarusian food. The majority of respondents, 79%, evaluated Belarusian food products as of high quality.

However, 14% of respondents were dissatisfied with quality of the products. About a half of Russians said that they would be willing to buy products made in Belarus.

The list of options proposed to respondents included eight different categories of edibles, including milk and dairy products, meat, sausage, sweet, canned vegetables, fruits, etc. It turned out that of the proposed list of food milk, sour cream and yogurt were bought most often. Say, in January, 28% of the respondents were regularly buying Belarusian dairy products, and 19% were buying Belarusian meat and sausages

However, when people were asked to evaluate the availability of products, opinions split: 40% named them as expensive and 39% as cheap.

Stepan Lvov, VCIOM Research Director commented on this: “Belarusian products and consumer goods are considered by Russians as good quality and relatively inexpensive. This is inextricably linked to the brand of the country, which has been formed for many decades”.
