Ukraine, cooperation
Ukraine and EU countries are interested in deepening cooperation in the organic industry

This year, the national pavilion of Ukraine was presented for the fifth time at the international exhibition Biofach. Twenty Ukrainian companies producing organic products have become exhibitors of the Ukrainian stand.

In addition, the Ukrainian official delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration Olga Trofimtseva held 8 official results meetings with representatives of European countries within the framework of the exhibition.

«The main results of Ukraine's participation in this year's Biofach exhibition can be summarized a bit later. But I am pleased to note, that every year the number of producers of organic products, which duly represent their products at the national stand. The second pleasant trend is that Ukraine represents not only raw materials but also more and more processed food products ready for sale on supermarket shelves», — said the Deputy Minister for European Integration.

She also added, that during the exhibition, the Ukrainian delegation held 8 official meetings with European partners, including Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands.

As a result of these meetings, concrete agreements were reached on direct and more effective cooperation at the level of ministries and relevant departments on the traceability of supply chains of organic products from producers to end users, exchange of information and training for Ukrainian experts in this field.

According to Olga Trofimtseva, today the global organic products market is developing dynamically, demand for various types of products is steadily growing, and Ukraine has all the prerequisites for consolidating certified organic products in key markets as a reliable supplier.

«The main task of the Ministry today in this area is to complete the formation of a legislative framework for the functioning of the organic farming market in Ukraine, including the completion of the relevant draft law and the formation of registers of market operators», — Olga Trofimtseva summed up.
