Vaatsa Agro belongs to the Trigon Dairy Farming group, which is cultivating 8 ths. hectares of land, total herd is 7000 heads, dairy herd — 3500 cows.

Vaatsa Agro farm was built in Loola in 2014. Farm holds 4 ths. hectares of land, where they grow spring wheat, winter rape, triticale and spring barley. The average crop yield of winter rape in 2014−2015 was 4.3 tons/hectare, triticale — 4.7 tons/hectare, winter wheat — 5.7 tons/hectare, spring wheat — 5.2 tons/hectare, spring barley — 6.4 tons/hectare.

Dairy herd in Vaatsa Agro has 1000 cows. Average daily yield of milk is 35 litters/cow. The average yield for one lactation is 10 000 kg, the maximum one reached 19 000 kg of milk.

Cows are milked three times per day in a Rotary parlor for 80 stalls (DeLaval) on three-shift basis. Only three employees work in one shift.

Milk that contains antibiotics is utilized. Milk of first-milked cows is given to calves, milk of second-milked cows is sold for processing. Cows suffering from mastitis are milked last of all.

Cows are kept for 2−3 lactations, but plan to prolong this term to 4−5 lactations. The heat of cows is determined by special sensors. They also use synchronization scheme.

Corn is not grown here. They don’t make haylage, but silage is made here of grain crops, which is preserved in 4 silage pits, (volume of each is 5 ths. tons) and 20 ths. tons are preserved just on the fields and territory of old farms.

Only 48 employees work on Vaatsa Agro. Total number of workers on Trigon Dairy Farm is 95.
