90% of the cheese imports in Russia comes from the EEU
These data was presented by Ph. D., Director of the research Institute agricultural market studies (IKAR) Dmitry Rylko, in his speech at the conference «Suppliers and retail chains: the practice of effective interaction» in the exhibition World Food-2016.
The expert presented data showing that in 2016, about 90% of imported cheese in Russia comes from the EEU countries. In 2015, this figure was 85%, according to IKAR, in 2014 — 40%, in 2013 — 23%.
The projected volume of domestic cheese market by the end of 2016 will amount to 800 thousand tons of cheese, including 112 thousand tons of imported products and 345 thousand tons of domestic production., according to the data for seven months of the year.
