The farm specializes in crop and livestock production. Up to 30% of the land base is used to grow feed crops. Dairy cattle breeding is one of the main activities.

Total herd is 1,600 heads, including 400 dairy cows. The breed is Holstein. Holsteinization of the stock is carried out within five years.

They combine fixed and loose housing systems.

Cows are milked in the milking parlour «parallel» 2×14 (DeLaval) and in the milk pipeline. The average daily yield is 30 kg of milk per cow with a fat content of 3,45% and protein — 3%.

The farm produces Higher Grade milk, which sells to Kupyansk Dairy Canning Plant.

To manage the herd use information from an automated program installed on the basis of the milking parlour.

Growing of youngstock begins with the care of fresh cows and newborn calves. The procedures are detailed in the protocols, and the execution is carefully monitored. Heifers are inseminated at the age of thirteen months.

In the first hour of life calves are fed with colostrum. If within one hour the calf voluntarily does not drink colostrum from the nipple, it is forced through the probe. Then the calf is transfered into an individual hut. In winter, it is placed under the infrared lamp for heating.

For 47 days 8 liters of whole milk per day are given: 2.5 l in the morning and in the afternoon, 3 l in the evening. They use a milk taxi.

After birth and until the age of 4 months, calves are grown in a hangar. The design is light, you can adjust the lowering of side curtains.

They produce their own feed, which includes corn (ground and whole grains), soybean meal, medical premix. Whole grain stimulates the development of all parts of the stomach in calves.

For dairy cows, there are three rations: for high, medium and low productive.

Feed is distributed twice a day according to the schedule.

Alfalfa and corn silage, as well as cornage, are harvested and stored only in pits.
